Seriously, I had no idea that a short break from the farmers market would take 2 months, but it did! I had all these ideas of what a break would look like...long naps, extended stretches of time on the couch watching movies, a clean house, leisure time with my kids, sunshine everyday! |

If you read my blog regularly, you know that it is usually about up-coming farmers markets, new flavors or items I've added. The blog will usually be filled with pictures of these items well lit and looking pretty for the camera!
If you know me personally, you will know that I spend plenty of time working on items, experimenting and practicing techniques so that my baked goods do, indeed, look good for the customers and camera. |

Obviously, this post is going to be about Christmas. It's the topic of most conversations this time of year! Today is Tuesday and I am feverishly baking in an effort to get goodies done for friends and family and for those of you coming to the farmers market THIS FRIDAY 4-7 AT TLC. Please do not be offended that I'm practically shouting this reminder at you. I promise that the reminder is shouted with all due respect and concern! I wouldn't want you to show up at TLC on Saturday hoping to get all your last minute meal components, gifts or treats. |

I just spent an hour telling everyone where the market is, what time it's on, what one will find there and what kind of treats you will find from us there. Then, my browser crashed and I lost it all into cyber space. I don't really want to type all that again so I don't think I'm going to. Instead, I'm posting pics of the chocolate cupcakes I made this morning. Plus, a few others. I know. Chocolate cupcakes might not be the most interesting things to look at, but I'm a little excited about them because they are a new-not totally new-just tweaked- recipe that is the base for most of the chocolate cupcakes that we offer. |

Honestly, I don't think there are many people who have just a little to be thankful for! Every person has had blessings and troubles in this life; but I firmly believe that how we choose to respond to and think about what happens in our life, helps to determine how happy we are. |

Wow! Fall is really here! I've been saying that it is for some time, but today proves it. Everywhere I look I see leaves falling to the ground. Every where I walk I feel and hear them crunching under my feet. I smell the smoke from fires burning in homes. I hear my phone ringing with special orders for favorite fall flavors and I smell wonderful aromas coming from my oven. Fall IS here and I, for one, am very excited! When the weather turns cooler, I want to cook. |

I'm sorry to say that we won't be at the market this weekend. We've had some family matters come up and will have to wait until the next market to see everyone and share the goodies. Have a great weekend! One of the best things about becoming a vendor at the Downtown Scottsbluff Farmers Market is all the people I've met. We have great faithful customers, but this post is about the vendors themselves. We've got warm generous vendors who really create a sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves. |

I've been doing tons of special orders lately, but I haven't shared pics with you. One of my favorites was for a little girl's birthday. We chose pink and green and brown as the common colors and had a great time matching flavors to paper colors! We think they turned out great. |

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend! This week, I've had 17 dozen special order cupcakes in addition to the farmers market. Needless to say, THAT'S A LOT OF CUPCAKES! Out of necessity, I've had to streamline my baking this week so my customers at the farmers market are going to get a few new flavors on Saturday. In addition to a lot of our regular flavors, we will be bringing German Chocolate, Pumpkin w/ Spiced Chocolate Frosting and Tie-Dyed with vanilla and chocolate cake. |
